Long time, no see

Let me first start off by saying, long time, no see! We had to take some time off from blogging to mourn our beloved Blizzo. Not sure how often we will be back, hoping at least once a month.

Can't believe it's been over a year since Blizz has passed away. Mom and me for a while had dreams almost every night of her. Now, it's not as common but they still sneak up on us once in a while. A few times we awoke thinking the dream was real and that she was still here with us. And even at times, we thought we could hear her when we nestled quietly into bed and just listened.

Our hearts are still broken and I'm still coping but we are attempting to keep busy. Not that she's out of our minds when we are busy, but we know she wants us to live our lives. Mom still says good morning to her and especially when her song comes on the radio! "Good Life" by OneRepublic.

Next post I'll update you all on my excavating business, let's just say Mom is not pleased with the progress.

Here are some pictures of Blizz's Urn and paw print. The picture frame says, "God saw her getting tired, a cure not meant to be so He wrapped His arms around her and whispered, "Come with Me". Rest in peace our dear Blizzo.

Still here but with sad news...

My best friend in the whole wide world is sick, really sick. Blizz, my fearless companion of the last 7 years has lymphoma. We got the confirmation today from the Vet. Mom and I are truly, truly heartbroken. Chemo will not be an option as Blizz is nearly 10 years old and does not tolerate sickness or medicine/treatment of any kind well. She's been given prednisone to help get her back to somewhat of normalcy for her last days.

We noticed a few weeks ago she wasn't eating as much as she ususally does and was losing weight. She then became very tired and would sleep most of the day. Mom took her to the Vet on Saturday. The Vet at first said it could be Lyme Disease but wanted to take a cytology of the lumps on her neck. They put her on a antibiotic hoping it would be the lesser of two evils, but in the end the most evil one won. If it was Lyme disease she probably would have been 'healed' within 30-60 days of the antibiotic.

She has completely lost her appetite, but the prednisone is suppose to bring it back. (We are praying!). I am so distrought over losing my best friend. We do not know how much longer she has left. I am writing this with tears in my eyes. Please pray for us!

I want to thank all my friends for their support during this difficult time. We will try to keep everyone updated and be on here more often.

Here's a nice picture of Blizz riding in the car tonight to our grandma's house. This is the first time she's been happy in weeks. I'm on the other side watching for cats! I'll have her back furever!

Movin' on up.......

Hello everyone! I know it's been an extremely long time since our last post. Blizz and I are doing just fine but our mom hasn't had much time or energy to help with this blog. Supposedly, she has a thyroid condition but I think she's just L-A-Z-Y.

The For Sale sign above isn't actually in our yard; we stole it from an email. But according to mom we are putting the house on the market in April and moving hopefully to a place with more room. Currently, Blizz and I have to share a room and I don't think that's very fair. Plus, we need to really get away from our skanky neighbors on both sides of the house (reason for the above picture). Only time will tell.

My new bed & 10 things

My new bed finally arrived yesterday! It's much fluffier than the last one and Blizz is jealous. I let her sleep on it last night while I slept on the couch --- and yes I was allowed to sleep on the couch this time! So far we love the new bed. Mom is going to check another store to see if they have another one for Blizz.

I decided to make a list of 10 things about me that you may or may not know:

1. My middle name is "Bo" after mom's previous dog Charlie Bo. He was a Yorkie and sometimes she calls me by his name accidentally.

2. I once hid my Hamburger Helper in the side of the couch!

3. I love pizza.

4. I wake mom up around midnight every night to go outside.

5. Every time I go for a walk I have an "accident". Once a man yelled at mom to clean it up, she didn't and walked away!

6. In the car I HAVE to ride in the front seat and rub my wet nose against the window.

7. Once in the car I accidentally pressed down the window button and almost fell out the car!

8. I love children but not toddlers or babies.

9. I usually don't get along with other dogs except Blizz. If they come to my mom I get very protective and territorial.

10. I have escaped from the front door twice and once when the gate was left open and went wild. I scare the daylight out of mom when I do that. But hey, at least she cares!

Toy Massacre!

Yes, the above picture is that of a toy massacre. Mom bought us 3 new toys the other day and within 24 hours the massacre occurred. The big thing in the middle with all the brown stuffing coming out is what I used to call my bed. To the right of what I used to call my bed is the remains of a pink stuffed pig and to the upper left is the remains of a green stuffed frog. The 3rd new toy (a rubber red bear) was listed as MIA when this photographic evidence was taken. He later turned up in mom's bedroom and is now listed as a prisoner of war. We are thinking of releasing him into the nasty neighbor's yard at night, a top secret mission that I am only sharing with you all.

I didn't mean to destroy my bed but I was hiding the toys underneath of it and periodically had to check on the status of my prisoners and you know I have to use my mouth to physically pick up the bed and well it got out of hand. My teeth are just so strong and sharp! They really are a lethal weapon.

Blizz did not take part in the massacre. She sat contently watching the battle and was thoroughly entertained. She did as you can tell guard her bed from the invasion.

You may be wondering where I am sleeping now and it's actually a different spot each night. I start out getting underneath mom's bed on the cool hardwood floors which you might think is too hard but it's quite comfortable. It's nice and cool from the hot summer heat we are having lately and no one bothers me there. From there I usually go back into our room and lay on the carpet or wake mom up to let me go outside and sleep on the mat. If she lets me out and I don't come back when called she leaves me out till morning.

Mom is going to get me a new bed this weekend but will wait a while on the replacement toys. It was fun while it lasted.

Uh oh! Doggies on the couch!

Bad dogs, bad dogs, what 'cha gonna do when SHE comes for you? Okay so that's a bad remake of the 'COPS' song but we were really in trouble when we got caught on the couch last night. Blizz is not allowed at all on the couch because she sheds terribly, and me, well you can say I am only allowed when I am clean (which is never!). We were let go with a misdemeanor and no slap on the wrist. I even was able to keep my part-time security job in the backyard all night.

Still no attack plan has been engaged yet on the neighbor from hell due to the excessive heat and him of course staying home all the time since he has no job. We figure he's still alive and hiding in his house waiting for our attack.

Blizz is scheduled to go back to the vet this weekend to have her ears re-checked. She seems to be doing better so we're hoping for a full recovery.

Adios amigos! (Can you believe that a dog from Scottish descent can speak a little espanol?)
